I've been drawing a weekly cartoon about business and marketing for over 20 years. Marketoonist is now read by half a million people each week.

Early on, when I posted a new cartoon from inside my work cubicle, my co-workers would often pop their heads over the cubicle walls to laugh talk about them. A friend called this "prairie-dogging."

I've thought about my cartoons as "prairie-dogging" ever since — a way to spark conversations and help us laugh at ourselves.
